GRAMMY-NOMINATED American gospel singer Travis Greene, 39, is set to return to Harare for a show to be held at Celebration Centre on December 1, exactly a year after he thrilled gospel music lovers at the same venue and event.
The 2017 Billboard Music Award for Top Gospel Song winner is well known for hits such as Made A Way, Won’t Let Go, Intentional, Good & Loved (feat. Steff any Gretzinger), You Waited and Still Here.
He will be accompanied by fellow American gospel musician, songwriter and worship leader Phil Thompson whose 2018 hit song My Worship reached number one on the Billboard charts. The song also garnered over one million views within two months of release and over 12 million views in one year.
The gig, to be broadcast by Zimbabwe’s leading television station, 3ktv, will also feature Pastor Bonnie Deuschle, South Africa-based poet and pastor, Nokwethemba Nxaba, widely known as Nokwe the Poet, versatile Worship leader Jesse Priestly and the award-winning Takesure Zamar. A spokesperson for the organisers — Pastor Lincoln Kapswara — has promised a memorable concert.
“We want to make this world-class gospel event accessible to everyone who wishes to attend. It’s our pledge to deliver a show of the highest quality that will uplift and inspire. This is a rare opportunity to encounter God, celebrate faith, and create beautiful memories,” said Kapswara, adding that they felt duty-bound to bring back Greene after the memorable gig he held at the same venue last year.
“Travis Greene’s return to Zimbabwe symbolises not only his love for the country but also the remarkable connection he has established with the Zimbabwean audience through his uplifting music.
“On that first visit, Greene not only graced the stage but also ventured beyond the concert venue, touring some of Harare’s iconic places and, most importantly, winning over the hearts of the people with his infectious warmth.
“Travis Greene will once again take centre stage at the renowned Celebration Centre on December 1 and he is bringing another top gospel artist from America, Phil Thompson, to share in this highly anticipated concert.”
