Roki goes gospel

Rockford “Roki” Josphats

POPULARLY known for the song Chidzoka, Rockford “Roki” Josphat, unveiled Ndinouya a gospel track last week featuring Kadja.

The song Ndinouya is a sequel to Mafuta another gospel track which is still enjoying fair share of airplay on the market.

On the video, Roki featured socialites Robert Mugabe Junior and Passion Java who is, of late, the musician’s all-time promoter. The Oskid-produced song garnered over 130 000 hits within 24hours. Joshphat was born on July 7 in 1985 in Madagascar and raised in Parktown, Waterfalls in Harare.

Apart from singing, Roki is a respected dancer who has groomed artists such as the late Soul Jah Love, Taurai Mandebvu and pole dancer Zoey Sifelani to name just but a few.

In early 2000s, Roki together with other musicians such as Pauline Gundidza whom he has two daughters with, Extra Large, Leonard Mapfumo and Teererai Mugwadi among others popularised urban grooves music genre.

Last year, Roki topped the charts with his smash hit collaboration Patati Patata with rhumba music giant Koffi Olomide and Rayvanny a Tanzanian singer.
