3KTV can be applauded for creating employment and giving a chance to talented youths whose life has been transformed. One such young person is Thandiwe Gwapedza.
Q: Welcome, please introduce yourself?
A: My name is Thandiwe Sandra Gwapedza. I am a technical operator at 3Ktv.
Q: Share your journey on how you started working at 3K?
A: Growing up I always loved TV, be it on screen or behind the scenes. As I was working as a social media specialist, I heard 3Ktv was having interviews for technical people then I said why not give it a try. Next thing I was accepted and the rest is history.
Q: Did you have any prior TV experience?
A: Having studied Film and Television, obviously I had experience and worked on several projects but I had not had studio broadcasting experience and I thank 3Ktv for granting me that platform.
Q: How did you feel the first time you saw your name on credits?
A: Yohh the feeling of first credits was something else. I can’t even explain it. It was for the program Cozy Cribs and I had to wait for the whole program to finish airing so that I could record the credits with my phone and post them everywhere on social media. The experience was just amazing.
Q: Which show is your favourite to watch?
A: Mangoma!!!!Haa Fantan and Ras Caleb’s vibe keeps me glued.
Q: How have you grown professionally?
A: As I mentioned earlier I had no studio broadcasting experience but thanks to my superiors who held my hand step by step. Now I’m a professional. I have grown and there is more room for improvement.
Q: Which shows are you involved in and share how it makes you feel?
A: I’m involved in current affairs shows Vantage, Midweek Express, and Your Wealth. Being involved in current affairs makes me have a sense of belonging and being dynamic on the ongoing events.
Q: Who is your role model in the TV industry in terms of production?
A: My role model is Marian Kunonga. The woman is a force to reckon with in the industry. She has defied all odds in the industry.
Q: How is it working with 3Ktv team and how important is it to have good teamwork?
A: My team is the best and we rely on each other. Team work makes a production flow, it builds identity and gives us a purpose.
Q: What’s memorable about working at 3Ktv?
A: The environment’s work ethic is amazing.
Q: What message can you give to viewers?
A: Brace yourselves for electrifying content, the sky is not our limit, there are foot prints on the moon.
