Love drama grips TV viewers

The drama stars a talented cast which includes Greatjoy Hlatshwayo, Percy Soko, Stacey Matarise, and Mxolisi Khumalo, among others.

VILLAGE 4, a drama series about two lovebirds who seek to unite their tribes through marriage, is leaving a lasting impression on 3Ktv viewers.

The drama, which is part of the leading independent national television station’s recently launched eleventh season, demonstrates the unique power of love to bring people together regardless of their diverse backgrounds.

Co-produced by Solomon Mandaza and Thulani Dube, Village 4 airs every Tuesday at 7:00 pm, following the lives of two tribes who come together through marriage. Mandaza is happy with the way Village 4 is delivering gripping entertainment to viewers.

“Village 4 is a story about two lovebirds who seek to unite their tribes through marriage. In a world where divisions run deep, Komfan’uyavela Village 4 weaves a powerful narrative that explores the complexities of tribalism and the pursuit of connection,” said Mandaza.

“Set in a vibrant yet fractured community, the series follows individuals from diverse backgrounds as they confront their own prejudices and experiences. As tensions rise, unexpected events force them to form unlikely alliances, showing that differences can be threads in a larger tapestry of humanity.”

“Join us on this emotional journey as Komfan’uyavela Village 4 challenges the status quo, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own beliefs and the strength found in unity. Together, we can rewrite the narrative,” he said.

According to the Village 4 co-producer, the drama was inspired by a wedding where a Shona groom married a Ndebele bride. “There was noticeable tension among family members, yet the union symbolised the coming together of two tribes,” Mandaza said.

“The reaction has been overwhelming. Many viewers have raised questions and started conversations that our society has often avoided. We are excited for what’s to come, with future episodes packed with drama, edutainment, and breath-taking scenes that will shape Zimbabwean minds,” Mandaza said, adding that he was grateful to 3Ktv for providing a platform to share these important stories.

“Our relationship with 3Ktv has been fantastic. They’ve supported us from the beginning, including with previous projects like Maliwe, allowing us to produce stories that resonate with the nation.”

3Ktv, which broadcasts 24 hours a day, launched its services on February 28 in 2022, becoming the first licensed free-to-air private station to operate in the country since television was first introduced in the then Southern Rhodesia in November 1960.
