FAST-GROWING independent national television station, 3Ktv, launched its new reality show, Love Back, at a glitzy event in Harare last night.

The riveting local relationship show, which gives people the chance to woo back their former lovers, was produced in collaboration with entertainment giant MultiChoice.

It airs on Thursdays at 7pm, starting today. In addition to being free-to-air, the two-andhalf year 3Ktv — the country’s first private station, and the most popular local channel on satellite — is also available on DStv Channel 293. Speaking at last night’s launch event of the new reality show, Zweli Sibanda — the Managing Director of Jester Media Services’ (JMS) Broadcasting Division, said the series was yet another demonstration of 3Ktv’s commitment to delivering great entertainment and value to its audiences.

“As the leading, first independent, and private national commercial television station to operate in Zimbabwe, 3Ktv is committed to continuing to be at the forefront of pushing the bar in always showcasing ‘The Best of Zimbabwe’ — as our well-known motto goes. “Indeed, through Love Back, we are challenging ourselves to reach even greater heights, and we have no doubt whatsoever that our viewers will love this compelling show to bits.

“This exciting collaboration with our most valued partners, MultiChoice, is yet another notable first by 3Ktv — where we are localising a long-popular DStv show for the enjoyment of Zimbabweans and all the station’s audiences,” Sibanda said.

“MultiChoice have been an excellent partner to 3Ktv since the station’s launch in February 2022. They have held our hand from day one and have continued to walk with us since then. “The launch of Love Back is the culmination of a long journey of more than two years where we were working to find the perfect balance to fuse MultiChoice’s proven content leadership and 3Ktv’s exuberant energy in showcasing the very Best of Zimbabwe,” he added.

Speaking prior to the premiere, MultiChoice Zimbabwe’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations, Charity Njanji, expressed enthusiasm about the new series and its focus on local talent.

“This is yet another exciting partnership between MultiChoice and locally-based channels, and is a further means of extending the reach of local content available to Zimbabwean subscribers to the DStv platform. “In the series, stakes are high when former partners try everything to get a second chance at rekindling a former love, thus getting ‘love back’ as soon as possible,” Njanji said.

The show will be hosted by Zolile Makeleni, who is a multilingual TV presenter, actor, filmmaker, life coach and MC, whose vibrant personality will resonate with Zimbabwean audiences.

In addition to hosting Love Back, the award-winning Makeleni, has previously presented popular talk shows such as ‘Dine with Tsotsi’ and ‘Rock Bottom.’ The series will consist of 13 episodes, with each one of them 24 minutes long.
