THE impact of the country’s Covid-19 vaccine rollout on business, industry, family dynamics and education will come under discussion this Thursday morning during a webinar to be hosted by the Daily News.
The webinar, to be graced by National Covid-19 taskforce coordinator Agnes Mahomva, will feature a high-powered panel which includes the chairperson of the economics department at the University of Zimbabwe Professor Albert Makochekanwa and Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe president Wengayi Nhau.
Lewis Chikurunhe, the commercial director for the Associated Newspapers of Zimbabwe, publishers of the Daily News and the Daily News on Sunday, said all was now in place for the highly-anticipated webinar.
“We have been impressed by the interest being shown in the webinar by stakeholders in both the health and business sectors.
“With the Covid-19 virus mutating at a frightening pace into deadlier variants, initiatives such as this webinar are important platforms to give useful updates about the vaccines and their roll out, uptake, and future plans.
“The panel of experts will go a step further to unpack what these developments mean for business, industry and society at large,” said Chikurunhe.
Among other objectives, the forthcoming webinar seeks to scale up the dissemination of quality and verifiable information to the citizenry as well as to complement efforts by the government and other stakeholders in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
More importantly, the event will also amplify efforts meant to defuse fake news around Covid-19 initiatives in order to encourage the populace to be inoculated en-masse against the pandemic.
He lauded the calibre of the panel put in place for the event.
“The panelists are very knowledgeable on matters under discussion. We have put together the right mix of business and health experts as part of our efforts to come up with fruitful discussions.
