HARARE – Zimdancehall star Winky D will rekindle stage romance with internationally-acclaimed Jamaican star Chris Martin in December, as the two artistes are set to participate in a show organised by Bantu Media and Big Yard Promotions in Cape Town South Africa.
The Disappear hit maker will share the stage with Martin on December 17 at Trafalgar Park at an event running under the banner Africa Unite Reggae Festival 2017.
The event will also feature artistes like Trevor Hall and Witty Boy among others.
Winky D’s manager Jonathan Banda said the Vigilance Band is glad to share the stage with these top artistes.
“It’s always good to be part of big names such as Chris Martin. We have shared the stage with him here in Harare last year at Glamis Arena and we are happy that we are going to share the stage with him again this year,” Banda said.
Since Winky D launched his musical career a decade ago, he performed in almost every continent and has won a number of musical awards including the annual Zim Dancehall Awards, Nama awards and Zima awards among others.
His song Disappear won several awards and made history after it topped the BBC Radio 1Xtra charts.
The Ninja President as Winky D is affectionately known by his fans has in the past shared the stage with international musicians such as P-Square, Beenieman and Capleton.
