HARARE – ZPC KARIBA coach Sunday Chidzambwa says he is pleased with his team’s progress thus far and is confident of maintaining the same form when they visit CAPS United this weekend.
Chidzambwa has led the power utility company to three wins, two draws and one defeat in the opening six matches of the season which has left them fifth on the log table on 11 points.
In their last match, Kariba dismissed Mutare City 2-0 at Nyamhunga Stadium and Chidzambwa wants to see his charges carry on from where they left when they travel to Harare on Saturday.
“Just like every other games, picking maximum points is what we want, nothing less. It is just going to be another game and we shall give it all it deserves to wrestle the maximum points at stake,” Chidzambwa told Daily News yesterday.
“I’m pleased with how the team has performed thus far.
“I think we are coming up well. It’s not a bad start at all, what we need to do is to maintain our form.”
Chidzambwa said his understanding with the players was behind the club’s recent form.
“There is no magic involved but just the players’ belief in my ability and I also trust their loyalty. With this perfect chemistry, I believe we will go places,” he explained.
The former Warriors coach said Makepekepe, despite losing their last match against How Mine remain a huge threat and they will not take any chances.
“CAPS United are a good side and we shall give them that respect but ensure the business is done on the pitch to keep hopes alive,” Chidzambwa said..
“They have been playing some good football. Even in that defeat to How Mine they were dominating which makes them a serious threat.”
ZPC Kariba will be without the services of midfielder Wisdom Mutasa as he is still out with an injury while Leonard Fiyado will have to pass a late fitness test after pulling a muscle.
Winger Takudzwa Mahori is in line to face his former paymasters as he resumed training this week.
