HARARE – Hunnar Management Agency, the organisers of Intwasa Fashion Show 2016, will hold model castings on May 28 at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.
Model coordinator Rudo Nyoni is confident they will attract top models.
“Running under the theme ‘No Colour’, we are looking forward to have a variety of models being part of the show.
“We really encourage all aspiring models to come through as they might never know how it will go.
“We are looking for extremely fresh faces to make up our final list of 20 models,” she said.
Nyoni added that they will also include plus-size models.
“As a people, we need to celebrate our curves and realistically speaking, our mothers, aunts, sisters and grandmothers are curvier women. We ought to celebrate them and be relevant to the market,” she said.
The model castings follow the selection of fashion designers early in the year for the event that will take place on October 1 as part of the Intwasa Arts Festival koBulawayo.
According to Nyoni, the Intwasa Fashion Show which has been running for three years, “aims to represent our beautiful people on the runway and also push limits to the business of fashion. Models from across Zimbabwe and Africa as a whole are welcome to come through and cast.”
