HARARE – Dynamos’ visit to Hwange this afternoon could be Paulo Jorge Silva’s last game as the Glamour Boys’ coach if his team fails to collect maximum points.
The Dynamos hierarchy had given Silva and his technical department an ultimatum to win three matches on the trot starting with their clash against Mutare City two weeks ago following an indifferent start to the current season.
Dynamos’ season got off to a false start losing 0-3 away to defending champions Chicken Inn in their first match of the season, drawing 0-0 at home against Triangle before redeeming themselves with a 1-2 victory in Mutare against Mutare City.
But the former champions’ mini-revival came to a screeching halt last weekend when they lost 0-1 to their bitter rivals CAPS United in the Harare derby.
There is no doubt that Dynamos will need to improve from their last performances if they are to beat Hwange away at the Colliery.
Silva is on the hot seat and he will surely work hard to get his players ready for that challenge.
Dynamos president Kenny Mubaiwa has insisted they will only make a decision after today’s result which gives Silva even more pressure to pick up maximum points.
In other matches set for today CAPS United host Boarder Strikers at the National Sports Stadium while Highlanders welcome Chapungu at Barbourfields.
Mutare City welcome How Mine at Sakubva while Sunday Chidzambwa’s ZPC Kariba travel to Gibbo to face Triangle.
Today: Mutare City Rovers v How Mine (Sakubva Stadium), CAPS United v Border Strikers (National Sports Stadium), Hwange v Dynamos (Colliery Stadium), Triangle United v ZPC Kariba (Gibbo Stadium), Highlanders v Chapungu (Barbourfields Stadium)
