ZVISHAVANE – Pervington Zimunya scored a memorable brace against Triangle to help ease Shabanie Mine’s relegation worries in a Castle Premiership match at Maglas Stadium yesterday.
Zimunya opened the scoring in the 20th minute when he connected with a cross from Frank Bushiri from the right.
Zimunya completed his brace five minutes from the break when he beat Triangle keeper Ashley Rayners from the spot.
Shabanie were awarded the spot kick after Rayners had hacked down Zimunya inside the box.
Shabanie now have 40 points and are three points above the relegation zone going into the last round of matches this weekend.
The asbestos miners now face title chasing Highlanders in their last game of the season and depending on results elsewhere they should be safe from the drop.
