Mi Casa dates Zim

HARARE – Explosive South African house band Mi Casa is set to return to Harare on Saturday for a one-off concert at Old Georgians Sports Club in Groombridge.

The award-winning Mzansi group’s November 16 show follows its electric maiden performance in Zimbabwe during the Harare International Festival of Arts (Hifa) in May.

The talented trio, whose first attempt to come to Zimbabwe in March was bungled by Zimbabwean promoter Max Mugaba, set the Hifa stage alight in a sold-out show that also featured Zimbabwean songstress Ammara Brown.

Zimbabwe’s newest upmarket live music venue Misty — in partnership with Bb Music —have decided to bring to Harare the red-hot South African group currently riding high on the popularity of its latest album Mi Casa Su Casa.

Mi Casa, made up of Dr. Duda (producer) and pianist, Jsomething (vocalist and guitarist), and Mo-T (trumpeter), will use Saturday’s show to promote their latest album which contains the hit Jika that has become the favourite of many.

The South African group was propelled to fame in Zimbabwe by the tracks These Streets and Heavenly Sent.
Mi Casa’s rising profile has seen the hot house group sharing the stage with international acts such as Drake, John Legend and Kool & the Gang.

The South African group has performed in over 12 African countries but the highlight of its career was a performance at United States of America President Barack Obama’s inauguration at the beginning of the year.

Mi Casa won the Sampra award for Heavenly Sent at the 19th annual South African Music Awards (Samas) this year.

The South African group will share the stage with Zimbabwean group Evicted and the RnB pop duo Ray Dizz and Simba Tagz. Otis “The Flow” Fraser, the popular Star Fm DJ will spin at the concert.
