BULAWAYO – South African actors Anga “MJ” Makubalo and Thami “Senzo” Mngqolo, who star in the popular soapie Generations, have been invited to grace the first anniversary celebrations of Club 40 Forty tomorrow.
Bhekizulu Ndebele, the manager for the Bulawayo club, told the Daily News that the two celebrated South African actors have been invited to add glamour to the club’s anniversary celebrations.
“Everything is set and what is left is for club-goers to come and enjoy the function,” said Ndebele.
“We are proud to be giving fans a chance to see Generations celebrities in real life and for the first time in our beautiful city.”
The two celebrities, who are expected to touch down at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo airport on Saturday morning, will mingle with fans during a road parade to be held before the main celebrations that will begin in the evening.
Ndebele said the popular nightspot decided to invite the Generations duo because they are actors and not musicians.
“Most celebrities that come to Bulawayo are musicians and it’s becoming a tradition. We thought of changing the script and provide a new form of entertainment.
“Senzo and MJ are very popular with people in the city,”said the Club 40 Forty manager.
Club 40 officially opened last year after taking over from Bar Labhala and has become one of the most popular clubs in the city.
Various local entertainers such as dancers Beverly Sibanda and Zoey Sifelani along with Suluman and Allan Chimbetu have performed at the venue.
