HARARE – Police have so far identified 14 out of the 24 victims who perished in the Chisumbanje road disaster.
Six people who survived the horrific crash on Wednesday morning are receiving treatment, with some of them still in critical condition.
According to a police report sent to Green Fuel yesterday, the survivors sustained serious injuries and are admitted at Chipinge District Hospital while police are still making frantic efforts to identify the other deceased.
According to the police report, 24 people were burned in the tragic accident that has plunged the country into mourning.
Among those identified, six of them are from the Mlambo family.
They were travelling to a funeral.
The funeral hearse was coming from Chegutu to Mariya Village.
Lillian Muungani, Green Fuel’s spokesperson, said they were devastated by the tragic accident and offered their condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased.
