BULAWAYO – Chicken Inn Inn midfielder Kudakwashe Mahachi is in South Africa for a one-week trial period at top Absa Premiership outfit Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mahachi’s manager, Mlungisi Moyo, confirmed to the Daily News that the offensive midfielder is trying his luck at the rich Pretoria club.
“The player left for South Africa yesterday (Monday) for a one week trial period at Sundowns and I hope he makes the most of it because it is not every day that such an offer comes up,” Moyo said.
“A football career is very short and if he can make a big money move at 19 years of age then that would be wonderful.”
Mahachi is one of the country’s brightest prospects and has been earmarked to be one of the star performers at next year’s Chan finals in South Africa after impressing in his Warriors debut against Mozambique in a 2014 World Cup qualifier.
Sundowns are understood to be looking for a playmaker to replace the ageing Teko Modise and Mahachi can easily fit the bill as he is very skillful and is the epitome of a modern footballer, who can defend and attack in equal measure.
No comment could be obtained from his parent club Bantu Rovers.
