Hwange ease relegation worries

HWANGE – Hwange moved away from the relegation zone after beating Black Mambas 3-1 on Sunday in a Castle Premiership match at the Colliery.

Hwange found their goals through Isaac Masame, Farai Vimisayi and Tafara Chese while Black Mambas scored through Last Chibwiro’ first half penalty.

Chipangano jumped three places up the log and are now on eighth place with 35 points while the police outfit are still one place above the last relegation spot with 32 points with four games to go before the season ends.

Alarm bells should start ringing loudly in the Mambas camp as they are just two points above Black Rhinos, who occupy the last relegation slot.

Yesterday, Black Mambas were the first to score through Chibwiro’s penalty; however, the coalminers did not lose hope and found their equaliser through Masame just before halftime.

Hwange came into the second half a much more purposeful side and scored two more goals through Vimisayi and Chese.

Hwange were on top of the situation in the second half and could have gone on to score more goals had they had been accurate in front of goal.

Gilbert Zulu and Vimisayi missed a number of glorious opportunities to increase the lead for the home side late on in the match.
