HARARE – The construction sector has been urged to explore ways and means to achieve the infrastructure and construction industry goals of the Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (Zim Asset).
This comes as government recently unveiled the economic blueprint meant to spearhead the turnaround and development of the economy over the next five years.
Martin Manuhwa, Zimbuild chairman said: “Zimasset sets the agenda for the delivery of infrastructure and utilities with a view to empower Zimbabweans through indigenisation employment and deployment.”
“First, the sector is focusing on restoring infrastructure to drive national development.
“Second, all stakeholders including government, the private sector and communities have real opportunities to achieve their goals in the infrastructure programs ahead,” he said at the launch of Zimbuild the infrastructure building and construction exhibition and summit this week.
Monica Kanyepi founder and chief executive said this year’s summit which runs under the theme “restoring infrastructure in Zimbabwe, immediate and emerging opportunities for business, government and communities is a way to capitalise opportunities availed by the business environment.”
