HARARE – Campus Night Activations Gigs will reach a climax on Saturday when Delta Beverages hosts the Lion Lager Summer Festival 2013 at the Glamis Arena on Saturday.
This year’s festival, which will run under the theme “Battle of Africa — East meets West”, will feature Oliver Twist hit-maker Dapo Daniel “D’Banj” Oyebanjo, 33, and 36-year-old Ugandan raga musician Moses “Bebe Cool” Ssali.
The highly-anticipated gig has also roped in Ninja President Winky D, Guspy Warrior and King Shaddy who are among the leading dancehall artistes in Zimbabwe.
Saturday’s festival will go a long way in justifying why Lion Lager has become synonymous with music and musical festivals.
“We are delighted to introduce yet once again the 5th edition of the Lion Lager Beer Summer Festival 2013 and further our shared aim of uplifting arts and culture through music in the country,” says Patricia Murambinda, Delta’s marketing manager.
“Music plays a central role in our lives and only the best beer has to support this initiative. Lion Lager has stood the test of time in music sponsorship and will continue to engage in promotional activities to uplift both the brand and music in Zimbabwe.”
The Lion Lager Summer Beer Festival has stood the test of time having started in November 2009 where the first edition was successfully held at Old Hararians Sports Club.
Various globally respected artistes have graced the event including Beenie Man, Cocoa Tea, Fantan Moja and P-Square.
