HARARE – Dynamos captain Murape Murape says the defending champions are ready to “put bodies on the line” in defence of their title, which has come under threat from rivals and current log leaders Highlanders.
The Glamour Boys travel to Bulawayo this weekend for an epic clash with Highlanders on Sunday in a match whose result might decide the destiny of the title.
A win for the Bulawayo giants will see them stretch their lead at the top of the table to five points while also restoring some pride for Bosso, who are still to beat DeMbare in a league match since 2006.
“For the last five games it’s war, there is no doubt about that,” Murape said after Sunday’s 4-0 destruction of Tripple B, a result that kept them just two points behind log leaders Highlanders.
“We have to start with Highlanders this weekend. It is very crucial because we need maximum points in every game that we play, so we need to win.”
The long-serving Dynamos player then made a passionate plea to every DeMbare supporter to fight in the corner of players instead of booing them when the chips are down.
That high-profile match against Highlanders will be followed by four other tough matches for the record Zimbabwe champions.
They will make the long trip to face resurgent Triangle, before hosting Shabanie Mine.
The Glamour Boys will then return to Bulawayo to face Chicken Inn before finishing off their campaign at home to Black Mambas.
