HARARE – CAPS United assistant coach Saul Chaminuka believes the brief resignation of his boss Taurai Mangwiro this week should serve as a unifying factor for everyone at the club.
Mangwiro quit as CAPS coach on Sunday following the 3-1 away defeat to Shabanie Mine before reversing his decision on Tuesday after holding talks with the club’s management.
And now Chaminuka, Mangwiro’s trusted lieutenant, reckons the recent turbulent times will strengthen the team instead of weakening it.
“Mangwiro is with the team, we are intact and nothing has happened to our bench,” Chaminuka told the Daily News yesterday.
“We are going all the way as one department with one vision, what happened on Sunday is the tonic that was needed for our team to bounce back. Sometimes phases like this make everyone look at the bigger picture and focus on the job at hand.”
CAPS take on Chicken Inn in the Mbada Diamonds Cup quarter-finals in Gweru on Saturday and the former Buffaloes coach believes the Green Machine will conquer.
