HARARE – Hundreds of dancehall music fans went home disappointed after hot artistes Emmanuel “Guspy Warrior” Manyeruke and Romeo “Shinsoman” Anthony failed to turn up for the much-anticipated musical concert dubbed Zim Dancehall Fiesta at Gwanzura Stadium in Harare.
The Seunononga and Mawaya-waya singers’ disappointing non-appearance put a damper on the dancehall fiesta that took place last week.
Rumours doing the rounds are that the two artistes had a gig in South Africa on the same day when fans were expecting them at the packed Gwanzura Stadium in Highfiled.
Patson Chimbodza of Chipaz promotions confirmed to the Daily News that Shinsoman and Guspy Warrior were attending a show in South Africa.
He added that the two artistes had communicated to him (Chipaz) about their show in South Africa.
“Guspy Warrior and Shinsoman had gone for a show in South Africa and they told me about it: unfortunately: posters and fliers had already been printed,” said Chipaz.
Guspy and Shinsoman’s hit tracks have become anthems in most pubs and clubs.
Lack of communication between the promoter and fans sent the packed venue into anger.
Joina City hit-maker, Freeman failed to put up a convincing live show which further worsened the situation in the venue.
The talented artiste left the stage unceremoniously to missiles of bottles and cans from the angry crowd because of his poor performance.
