Pasuwa bemoans sending off

TRIANGLE – Dynamos coach Calisto Pasuwa is still traumatised by his sending off in the BancABC Sup8r quarterfinal against Buffaloes on Sunday at Gibbo Stadium.

Pasuwa had to watch the rest of the match from the terraces after he was given his marching orders by referee Munyaradzi Majoni in the 63rd minute for protesting Themba Ndlovu’s crude challenge on his defender Morris Kadzola.

But despite the coach’s nonpresence on the touchline, his side was able to hold on to a 2-0 win over the Mutare-based soldiers courtesy of first half strikes by defender Augustine Mbara and midfielder Russell Madamombe.

Following Sunday’s win, Dynamos set up a semifinal clash with Shabanie Mine, who defeated Chicken Inn 2-0 in a quarterfinal encounter last Friday at Mandava Stadium. The other semifinal tie pits FC Platinum and Monomotapa.

“This is the first time I have been send off. Even as a player I was never sent off,” said the incensed Pasuwa.

“Everyone who knows me knows handisi munhu anotaurisa (I’m not someone who shouts at referees).

“All I was saying to the referee is that he should also protect my players too. We are being disadvantaged all the time.

“But I was surprised to be cautioned by the referee. I was even more surprised when the fourth assistant forced me to leave the pitch.”

The medics also had to attend to Dynamos goalkeepers’ coach Tichaona Diya after he collided with Buffaloes forward Admire Dzumbunu.

Although the DeMbare coach seemed to have overplayed the incident as they appeared to be little contact between the two.

Away from Saturday’s drama, Dynamos will now shift focus to their semi-final encounter against Luke Masomera’s Shabanie side.

Pasuwa hopes the Glamour Boys league loss to Buffaloes and their subsequent quarterfinal victory of the Mutare soldiers will serve as an inspiration against complacency.

“It’s going to be an interesting game,” Pasuwa said of the Chinda Boys semifinal meting.

“I think whichever team carries their chances on the day we will win it. It’s all about the attitude of our players.

“They (players) should approach every game positively. This is what happened to us when we lost to buffaloes we thought because we have not been defeated we are going to win, but look what happened we were punished. This is what we must guard against.”
