Jah Prayzah for peace
HARARE – Zimbabwe has so many ambassadors representing different issues — from fashion ambassadors, political ambassadors, music ambassadors, to catwalk ambassadors who usually act as tourism ambassadors.
Jah Prayzah, the trailblazing musician has chosen to be an ambassador of peace, something which is very difficult to do in a polarised society as Zimbabwe.
Jah Prayzah has proved to be the man for peace.
He carefully chose the occasion of the Mutare Music Festival to showcase his message of peace on Saturday night.
He appeared on stage after midnight clad in military fatigue.
Ironically the military and other security arms of the State are currently a subject of intense political discussions.
But Jah Prayzah made a statement of his own on with his military T-shirt inscribed “PEACEMAKER.”
For the many revellers who attended the showcase the message was loud and clear.
“We don’t want violence, let’s make peace, no more fighting and no more violence,” an emotional Jah Prayzah sung much to the appreciation of the hundreds of his followers.
Jah Prayzah who is an Artists for Democracy in Zimbabwe Trust (ADZT) peace ambassador belted some of the peace songs from the peace album titledMoyo Munyoro, that he produced together with Suluman Chimbetu, Edith Weutonga and Chiwoniso Maraire.
Mutare Zanu PF member Esau Mupfumi also attended the show where Jah Prayzah preached a message of peace and togetherness. – Own Correspondent
