Sulu vows to rock Miss Carnival final
HARARE – Suluman Chimbetu, who represented Zimbabwe early this year at the Seychelles festival, has promised to light up the Miss Carnival finals set for the Harare International Conference Centre on Saturday.
Joe Nyamungoma, Suluman’s publicist told the Daily News yesterday that they were looking forward to performing at the pageant and the carnival.
“This is the first time we are having a carnival in Zimbabwe and we will be further raising the bar as a band,” said the Orchestra Dendera Kings publicist.
“We will be performing at the Miss Carnival on Friday and also during the carnival.
“We are happy to have got the chance to perform during our first national carnival,” he said.
Sulu promises great Miss Carnival showNyamungoma added that their relationship with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) was a remarkable one.
“ZTA is like our home as our relationship is strong; we have a strong bond with them.
“Working with ZTA is easy as we know that we will not only be doing it for them but for the country as their purpose is to market the country well.
“Whatever they do, they do it for the country, so we will be doing our best for our country,” he said.
Other artistes who will also perform during the Miss Carnival pageant include Cindy, Goodchild and Winky D.
Preparations for the Miss Carnival pageant are gathering momentum with the girls currently in camp. Last week they toured national monuments including the Heroes Acre in Harare and the Great Zimbabwe in Masvingo.
Miss Carnival contestants include Rumbidzai Machipanda, Victoria Ndudzo, Mitchelle Bingepinge, Heather Masimba, Chenai Chaendera, Blessing Mukumene, Victoria Chidarikire, Paidamoyo Muzondo, Tsitsi Shoniwa, Shermaine Dhliwayo, Fungai Mazhambe, Primrose Peterson, Michelle Tembo, Nokwazi Chikanya, Marble Nyathi, Chantel L. George, Melissa N. Chaka, Chiyedza Muteyiwa, Tendai Bungani Hunda, Nyaradzo Francisca Nhongonhema, Hilda Mabu, Thabiso Phiri and Dananai Chipunza. – Entertainment Writer
