ZVISHAVANE – Three days after holding Chiredzi spell-bound, popular dancer Beverly ‘Bev’ Sibanda left Zvishavane men eating from her palm on Saturday night.
Clad in body-hugging attire, the raunchy dancer whose dancing routines continue to brew conflicting opinions across the cultural divide nudged sleepy Zvishavane into life with her action-packed show.
The show, however, got off to a rocky start.
Bev and her group, the Sexy Angels unhappy with the failure by the venue’s security details to hold back fans from spilling onto the stage, made a temporary exit from the stage.
And one reveller who was one of the few women in the predominantly male environment was not amused by Bev’s actions to leave stage prematurely.
The enraged lady got embroiled in a heated argument with Bev before security personnel restored sanity.
But despite the hiccups, when Bev together with her equally-talented backing group returned to the stage it was show time for real. Her well-choreographed routines left the packed Zvishavane Downtown Sports Bar drooling.
The group performed from 10pm to 2:30am with men and the few ladies that graced the show ceaselessly absorbed in her aura.
The highlight of the night for most of the revellers was when Bev asked for a male volunteer to join her on stage. There was a near-stampede with all men battling to get the rare honour of dancing with Zimbabwe’s ultimate pole dancer.
After selecting the ideal candidate, the controversial Bev proceeded to strip the “lucky” man to his undergarments.
From then on, she unleashed various and well-coordinated sexually seductive dances that left the revellers entranced.
Instead of criticism, the crowd kept asking for more. What a disappointed lot they were when her performance came to an end in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Bev’s manager Harpers Mapimhidze told the Daily News that the demand for her services is ballooning by the day.
“Sometimes I have to switch off my phone, because my phone is constantly ringing, everyone wants to see Bev perfom,” he told the Daily News during Bev’s show.
He, however, bemoaned the lax security being offered to Bev because those who hire her underestimate her crowd-pulling powers.
