U.S gospel rapper to bless SOS Children’s Village


HARARE – Visiting American international gospel rapper Da’ T.R.U.T.H is set to perform at SOS Children’s Village in Harare tomorrow ahead of his concert slated for February 22 at the Jubilee Christian Centre (JCC) in Milton Park.

The artiste, whose real name is Emanuel Lee Lambert, Junior, will be in Zimbabwe for the Love Hope War Africa Tour where he will be supported by equally talented local artistes such as Illceey, Prophecy, Pryminister, DJ Ndu and Rolx Dance Group.

Ndumiso Ndlovu of Red Ink Events, the company hosting the Grammy Awards nominee and three time Stellar Award winning rap artiste, confirmed the visit to the Waterfalls-based children’s home.

Advance concert tickets are going for $10 while fans will have to fork out $15 at the gate.

“On February 21 Da’ T.R.U.T.H will visit the children’s home at SOS Children’s Village in Waterfalls at 2pm and will perform a song for the children and also get the chance to interact with them”, said Ndlovu.

“We will also hand over some free tickets for some of the children to come to show as well as hand over clothing donations to the children.

“We are doing this because we believe that true religion is supposed to bless orphans and widows, in line with the scriptures”.

The American gospel rapper is a graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University and The Institute for Jewish Studies.

Da’ T.R.U.T.H’s current truth The Whole Truth debuted in the top 10 on iTunes and on the Billboard Gospel Charts.

The 36-year-old rapper, who has five albums under his name namely Moment of Truth, The Faith, Open Book, The Big Picture and The Whole Truth, has performed before sizable crowds as a rapper and urban missionary since the age of 16.

He has appeared on MTV, BET, TBN, Daystar, GMC, My Network, GOD TV, INSP, One Gospel and several others.

The American gospel rapper was a supporting act to Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary on the Hero Tour.

In 2012 he, along with other members of Xist Music toured Africa in The Move Tour Africa, where Zimbabwe was their first stop.

This time around the American rapper is touring Nigeria, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and South Africa as part of his African tour. – Vasco Chaya
