Slizer returns to Zim
HARARE – Popular Botswana singer and dancer Naledi Kaisara, better known as Slizer, is expected to arrive in Zimbabwe on Friday for a show in the border town of Beitbridge a day later.
The Batswana singer’s tour is being facilitated by Blessing Mureyani of Winter Cherry Promotions.
Slizer’s Zimbabwean manager Gift Petro confirmed the singer’s Beitbridge show.
“She will definitely perform in Beitbridge on Saturday”, said Petro.
“Slizer feels at home in Zimbabwe; Zimbabwe is her second home. Fans in Beit Bridge will witness her trademark dynamic performances.
“Slizer is an energy god on stage who has earned a deserving reputation as a star performer. She will be using the tour to promote her latest dvd Slizer Diwewe. The new dvd will be available for sale during the Beit Bridge show.
Petro also revealed that Slizer’s current tour will just be for a one-off show.
“Slizer will just be performing in Beit Bridge only on this current Zimbabwe tour but plans are already in place for her to return to the country in December so that she can perform in Harare and other places”.
The beautiful Tswana songstress is no stranger to Zimbabwe.
Last year she was engaged by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) to produce songs promoting Zimbabwe as a safe tourist destination.
As part of fulfilling her obligations with ZTA, Slizer toured the country’s tourist resorts ahead of the production of her album.
The best Botswana Musicians Union (Bomu) female artiste award winner is a household name not only in Zimbabwe but in the whole of southern Africa.
She started her music career over a decade ago as a backing vocalist for various renowned Batswana groups, including Franco and Alfredo Mos.
Slizer shot to fame with her debut album O Tswa Kae in 2008 which reportedly sold well over 30 000 copies. – Entertainment Writer
