LIFESTYLE WRITER

PREPARATIONS for the inaugural Africa Hall of Fame awards are now in full swing, with organisers officially opening nominations for the continental honours and confirming that the ceremony will be held on August 8 at Rainbow Towers in Harare.

Organisers said the new date follows an overwhelming response to the initial call for nominations, prompting them to expand research and engagement across Africa to ensure broader participation and a more inclusive selection process.

“We have expanded our outreach across the continent to ensure every country has an opportunity to participate in this historic initiative,” reads part of the statement from the organisers.

“The new date allows us to complete a comprehensive and credible selection process involving Africans from all walks of life.”

The awards seek to recognise outstanding Africans whose contributions have transformed lives and inspired communities across the continent.

“Honourees will include celebrated heroes and legends, as well as ordinary citizens making an extraordinary impact in their respective fields.

“Nominations remain open, with members of the public invited to nominate deserving individuals in sectors including business, arts and culture, sport, leadership, innovation, humanitarian work and community development.

“Our mission is to celebrate excellence from every corner of Africa,” reads the statement.
